Fall New Release & Freebie!

Posted by: Diane | Comments (1)

Hello Fellow Doodlers!

Summer may be winding down but our digi store is just getting all wound up with new image designs for you to create holiday projects. New Darla & Darryl images make their debut this month. Each Darla & Darryl come with wind-swept or curly hairdo.

The Fall image designs include a great collection of scarecrows, ghosts, witchy things, spiders & webs, candy corn wreath, and the list goes on – surely there’s something for everyone! For Thanksgiving we’ll have turkeys, pilgrims, pumpkins, and autumn florals, but that’s not all! For you ‘early start’ Christmas card makers we already have a stunning collection of Christmas images for almost any project you want to make from stockings, poinsettias, mice snowman, tin soldiers, reindeer and adding more - just in time to make your holiday cards spectacular!

Prismacolors Premier Double-end Art Markers  - Premier is Prismacolors primary colored markers. Coloring with Prismacolor markers is different than other types of coloring and works more like painting with watercolors than shading with markers, colors or pencils. Prismacolors are used in many art fields. This video demonstrates some of the many ways you can use these markers.

Before buying a full set of Prismacolor Markers get a set of the gray shades. This allows you to create depth and understand how the Prismacolors work. Also purchase a clear blending marker. Most papers work with these markers, but use a paper that handles lots of layers and wetness. [See Tutorial tab]

Prismacolor Colored Pencils are the most popular pencils as well. The colors are easily blended, slow to wear, break resistant, and waterproof.

Scor-Buddy Mini Scor-Pal scoring tablet is designed for card makers and measures 9″ x 7-1/2″. I use both size Scor-Pals all the time because it’s much more convenient then using my bone folder and ruler OR the scoring blade on my Fiskars cutter. I really appreciate the deep score line and a score that is straight, exactly where I want it on the card stock … I love that there’s a clip that holds the bone folder onto the board and ruler along the top and sides. It’s just much easier to score cards!

It’s time for another freebie … which is only available at DZ Doodles Digital Stamps at Paper Crafts Planet  Come join our talented group and participate in the card challenge project Rosalien has posted using this image … and don’t forget to ADD YOUR COMMENT about this image!

“Congrats” to our latest DZ Doodles PaperCraft Planet challenge winner, Joyce of Grams Treasures blog.

I’m also adding a few layered/paper piecing images and mechanical images for you to have some fun with. Look at what I’ve done with our Mechanical Ghost (Halloween Category) by just using Pebbles Inc., Basic Brights Chalk. First add the white chalk about 1/2″ from the edge into the image pieces. Gently add the light grey and darker grey chalks about 1/4″ to 1/8″ from the edge into the image. Gently reuse white to blend the chalks to get the desired effect. Using a dark grey marker (or black), run the marker tip along the the outer edge of each image piece to make it ‘pop’! This gives the image some color without having to color all the pieces. Prismacolor Colored Pencils work well too! Our Trick Or Treat sentiment worked well with this image!

                 Card size shown: 7-5/8″ x 5-3/8″ Image size used: 5.45″ x 5.45″

Click on line line-drawn image to enlarge. Right click on enlarged image and in your drop down menu SAVE AS to your digi folder! Here’s a quick tutorial of how to use this image using American Greetings Scrapbooks & More 7 (AGSM7) program … Select BLANK PAGE (8-1/2″ x 11″) and copy PASTE icon. Using your corners pull image to fit as shown and print!

Pick up this weeks freebie Box Template right here … we can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Notice the TUTORIALS TAB?? I’m working as quickly as I can to help educate you on a program that I think is overlooked, yet it’s so easy and fun to use from beginners to advanced digi designers! I’ve used American Greetings Scrapbook & More 7 (AGSM7) program for more than 8 years (upgrades & variations of the program). The majority of my designing process is done in it and therefore higly recommend it because of it’s simplicity. So give it a look see and keep checking back!

Have a happy paper craft weekend! Diane :0)

DZ Doodles New Images & Box Freebie!

Posted by: Diane | Comments (0)

Hi Doodle Friends!

I hope everyone’s enjoying the dog days of summer?! I guess I really needed some R & R as I didn’t pick up my drawing tools much while vacationing the first half of this summer even though I packed some things to work on. Guess everyone needs a break from what they do all the time huh? I know you’ve been anxiously waiting to see the new release images, sorry for the delay, but we’re finally ready to reveal some of them … “woo-hoo“! We’re introducing “Darla”  in a variety of activities – a game of hopscotch, daydreaming on her blanket, wearing a shy smile, enjoying a piece of watermelon, and dancing. She is available with a wind-blown hair or a curly hairdo!

August is the perfect time to get a jump start on your holiday projects. I’m not sure what it’s like in your household, but in mine there seems to be plenty of time to spare at this time of year. Along with many of you, I’m thinking Christmas presents, decorating, small gifts to exchange along with other holidays coming up — time is running short! Once the coming school year schedules have you busy and hurried, doing so now should be excuse enough to start making your holiday projects! Here’s a freebie box template design idea that can be used for birthday’s, halloween candies, and other holiday treats! Just click on the box image to enlarge. Right click your mouse on the enlarged image and in the drop down menu ”save picture as” to your digi folder!

INTERACTIVE CARDS Annie’s Attic 64-page paperback booklet is a creative collection of hand-crafted cards with moveable parts that are as fun to make as they are to send. Surprising designs that spin, flip, slide, pull, swing and more!

DZ Doodles New Release Images

Posted by: Diane | Comments (0)

Hi Fellow Doodlers!

Did you notice a dry spell in DZ Doodles? A vacation threw a wrench in production throughout the months of June and part of July, delaying many new releases. They’re finally being added (just click on the Digital Stamps tab) and we think they were worth the wait! I am so looking forward to sharing our summertime digi images with you these next few weeks and looking forward to seeing what kind of projects you come up with.

Summertime is a great time to create projects with the kids. And if you’re really on top of it, we know many people are starting their holiday projects now. Whatever you’re making, we hope you’ll be inspired by our New Relase images.

Over at Paper Craft Planet  (3-D Tuesday Challenge) there’s an “oh so cuteZ-Box Bag template /tutorial that is available from Creations by AR (Adela) for a summer looking bag!

If you are wondering “what’s up with the DZ Doodles site” I’ll just say that in my attempts to do a little reconfiguration in this WordPress program I totally made it dysfunctional from it’s original construction. I don’t have the patience anymore or techie-understanding for WordPress and the finances to find out what I need to know. To say the least, in the meantime, I am looking for an alternative website solution.

Have a happy papercraft day! Diane

DZ Doodles Paper Craft Planet Changes

Posted by: Diane | Comments (1)

Hi Fellow Doodlers!

I’ve been basking (really baking) in the California desert sun, and running to the beach area now & again! Until mid-July I’ll be visiting with my daughter & family in Palm Springs. However, images listed in the categories are always available for purchase so that you can still have fun creating projects.

DZ Doodles Group on Paper Craft Planet wil be closing Saturday, June 19th, but regrouping to form a new group as DZ Doodles Digital Stamps! The original group was set up by a former design team gal using her personal email. Since she is no longer a design team member and needs her email address back for personal use, a complete re-make of the group is necessary. Sorry for the inconvenience and we plan to have the new DZ DOODLES DIGITAL STAMPS group up and running on Paper Craft Planet by Tuesday, June 22nd and get on with Valerie’s summer fun!

Valerie will post the new URL to the PCP group on the Oodles Of Doodles News   … we hope to see all of you re-join the new DZ Doodles Digital Stamps Group and don’t forget you have until June 17th to play along with us on the freebie image now offered and still get your project in to earn another free image.

Have a happy paper craft day! Diane :0)

DZ Doodles Freebie Slam! Day Two …

Posted by: Diane | Comments (8)

Hello Fellow Doodlers!

This is DAY TWO of freebie images (last freebie day is May 26th) and think you’ll enjoy creating projects using the images I’ve selected for this Freebie Slam!

There’s a set of images in the KITCHEN STUFF category that I think really gets overlooked (even by me) … APRON SET. I was in need of some ‘Hostess’ appreciation cards and began tinkering with this three image set – I had to show you what I came up with! I used Martha Stewart’s Daisy Edge Punch, Paper Pizazz #HOTP 7328 Easy Stitches Template, and Provo Craft #34-0021 Paper Shapers scissors, and paper packet #X7084B-Floral Tapestry from Close To My Heart.

Craft Critque has a must read article by Jenny B. Rohrs regarding the Pearl Pen by Viva-Decor. They are available at Susana’s Custom Art & Card Design  site! Don’t forget to watch the video’s too!

Karen Bernoe emailed me some of her projects that she had created using the many Thelma images available … she did such a wonderful job that I had to show them off … it’s so fun to see buyer’s projects! Can’t wait to receive some more!!

Middle of May

Posted by: Diane | Comments (5)

Hello Fellow Doodlers!

Dang-gummit where does the time go? It just seems like we were celebrating a new year. Yet here we are almost nearing the end of May! The nice part, this time of year, is the wonderful combination of green, flowers blooming, and the sun shining. Everything works together to make a beautiful day. It is sort of like a paper craft project where you combine digi stamps, cardstock and pattern papers, and embellishments to create a finished project!

May and June are month’s of celebrations, both official and the ones we make for ourselves. Usually we add in a picnic or grill out to celebrate our way of life. In between are all the other occasions of late spring, such as end-of-school-year potlucks, graduation parties, and showers for June brides or babies. It can all add up to a busy two months!

The COOK OUT APRON and BARBECUE GRILL are no longer a freebie image but are available for purchase in the New Release Category.

I will be rotating an assortment of Freebie images throughout the next 7-days because through the month of June I will be vacationing in Palm Springs, California with my daughter and family. I doubt that I’ll get much drawing done or spend very much time on their computer, and thought I’d offer Freebie’s until I depart — also adding images to the NEW RELEASE Category. However, over at Oodles Of Doodles News DTC Valerie and her group of designers will continue to have challenges for everyone to participate in and you could be the winner of 2-free images of your choice! Guest Designer’s are welcomed … if selected, there’s no monetary compensation, but you can get a freebie image of your choice to use on your submitted project! If interested please contact Valerie!

SHOW US WHAT YOU CREATE WITH YOUR FREEBIE IMAGES!!!

“IN THE SPOTLIGHT”!  DZ Doodles Digital Stamps is sponsoring Sally’s Creative Corner spotlight,  May 17th thru 23rd … you could be the winner of five DZ Doodles images just for leaving a comment!
